For a few weeks, I have walked you through my 12-week Brazilian Jiu Jitsu challenge.
This week, no mat update.
I was under the weather last weekend and did not train.
But the timing is a gift.
This week, the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off: Mexico against South Africa in Mexico City, the largest World Cup ever staged across three nations.
Here is what stops me every four years.
For one month, a single tournament pulls billions of people, hundreds of cultures, and dozens of rival nations into one shared moment.
That is not entertainment. That is leadership at scale.
Why?
Great leaders model this in their organizations.
They raise a banner.
They name a common cause.
They create a moment big enough that different people choose to pull in the same direction.
This week, ask yourself one question: does my team have a banner worth rallying behind, or just a list of tasks?
