Hey Leader 🙌
In 1994, the World Cup came to America.
Soccer was already my sport.
That summer is when it became something bigger than a game.
5 weeks ago, it came back to us.
Most attended.
Most televised.
96 years of tournament history and nothing has ever pulled the planet closer than this one did.
Think about what that actually is.
Different languages, different religions, different politics, different flags.
All of it set down for a few hours over a simple game.
The World Cup did not erase anyone’s differences.
It gave people something bigger than their differences to look at.
That is the job.
Not consensus.
Not comfort.
A vision so clear that people who agree on almost nothing still run in the same direction.
What an incredible lesson on the world stage!
So here is your test this week.
Ask three people on your team, separately, to describe where the company is going in one sentence.
If you get three different sentences, your people are not the problem.
Your clarity is.
Then fix it out loud.
Say the vision in the meeting.
Say it in the one-on-one.
Say it until you are bored of saying it, because that is roughly when your team starts to believe it.
After all..
Spain lifted the trophy.
But every nation got the leadership lesson.

The 5 Immutable Rules of Leadership
- Take Extreme Ownership: Everything is your responsibility, even when it’s not your fault.
- Put Your Oxygen Mask On First: Lead yourself before leading others.
- Wield Influence Through Moral Authority: People follow who you are, not what you say.
- It’s Not About You, Never Was, Never Will Be: Elevate others, build legacy.
- Turn Adversity Into Advantage: Pain is your power, use it.
