Hey Leader 🙌
We just wrapped our first Mastermind Workshop of the year in Fort Lauderdale, and it was a massive success.
Well… minus a handful of our rockstar owners who got snowed in. Leadership lesson #1: You can’t control the weather, but you can control your response.
Here’s the bigger takeaway.
Barrett, my Executive Director of Coaching, kicked us off with a full-day CliftonStrengths workshop. Every Mastermind member unpacked their Top 10 strengths.Â
Personalized. Specific. Revealing.
And here’s what became crystal clear:
Humans are simple.
And humans are complex.
That’s the paradox.
At our core, people want to feel seen, heard, valued, and significant.Â
That’s the simple part.
But the way that shows up? Infinitely complex.
Different strengths.
Different fears.
Different communication patterns.
Different triggers.
This is why leadership is hard.
And this is why leadership is valuable.
If you are in business, you are in the people business. Period.
Which means your competitive advantage isn’t marketing. It isn’t systems. It isn’t even strategy.
It’s your ability to study human nature.
Great leaders are perpetual students of people.
They observe patterns.
They ask better questions.
They understand what drives behavior.
Because when you understand human nature, you can influence at the highest level.
This isn’t a one-time workshop skill.
It’s a lifelong pursuit.
Study people or be confused by them.
The choice is yours.
Make it a GREAT week.

The 5 Immutable Rules of Leadership
- Take Extreme Ownership: Everything is your responsibility, even when it’s not your fault.
- Put Your Oxygen Mask On First: Lead yourself before leading others.
- Wield Influence Through Moral Authority: People follow who you are, not what you say.
- It’s Not About You, Never Was, Never Will Be: Elevate others, build legacy.
- Turn Adversity Into Advantage: Pain is your power, use it.
