Happy Monday Mindset!
My mother-in-law asked me a simple question: who is better, Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo?
I did not answer it. I asked her one instead.
What do you admire most?
Because the two of them are not the same kind of great.
Messi is Superman.
He was born with the powers.
Watching him play feels natural, as if the laws of physics do not apply to him.
He makes the impossible look simple.
Clubs build entire systems around him, and that makes sense, because he is a talent that has never existed in the history of the game.
Messi is the dream of being born with an extraordinary gift.
Cristiano is Batman.
No superpowers. He built himself.
Discipline, courage, and bravery, repeated until he became extraordinary.
He changed countries, leagues, languages, and playing systems, and stayed elite through every one of them.
While Messi seems to improvise, Cristiano seems to have trained every move a thousand times. While one conveys calm, the other conveys hunger.
While one lets the game come to him, the other goes out to conquer it from the first minute.
Here is the truth for high performers: you do not get to choose your gifts.
You do choose your discipline.
Most of us are not Superman.
Good.
Because Batman was never about being born special. He was about the decision to build, made every single morning again.
That is how you Turn Adversity Into Advantage.
You stop waiting to be gifted, and you start building what raw talent can never fake.
Your setbacks, your late start, your missing gift- that is your Batcave.
