Happy Monday Mindset!
As June has arrived, the world is preparing for something special.
The FIFA World Cup returns to North America, bringing together the greatest soccer players on the planet.
For me, it brings back a vivid memory from the summer of 1994.
I was a 10-year-old boy sitting in a sports bar with my dad and brother, completely captivated by the championship match.
At that age, I did not fully understand the magnitude of the moment.
I just knew I was witnessing something special.
Now, 32 years later, we arrive at another historic tournament on American soil.
Likely the final World Cup appearance for Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Two athletes who have defined excellence for nearly two decades.
Yet here is the lesson that stands out to me.
The world will watch the matches.
The highlights.
The celebrations.
The trophies.
What most people will never see is the preparation.
The thousands of training sessions.
The sacrifices.
The discipline.
The relentless commitment over the last four years (and life) to earn the opportunity to compete on the world’s biggest stage.
The separation is in the preparation.
The same principle applies to leadership, business, and life.
Championship moments are earned long before they are celebrated.
The work you do today, when nobody is watching, determines the opportunities available tomorrow.
My message today:
Stay focused.
Stay disciplined.
Keep preparing.
Your moment is coming, so be ready.
