Monday Mindset – Some BIG takeaways from a LITTLE lady

Happy Monday!

I am pleased to share that my niece Ravenna was brought into the world this Thursday morning at just over 6lbs.

She’s tiny and is named after a beautiful city in the north of Italy next to the Adriatic Sea. 🌊

And it’s these big life moments that stop and really make you think. 🤔

They also put things in perspective.

As I met her yesterday morning, these thoughts kept passing through my mind. 👇

  • Life is precious & beautiful.
  • It’s also very delicate and fragile.
  • It’s an absolute gift that should be celebrated.

My friend, you and I have 1 trip around this globe. We must live it to the fullest. Here are some takeaways to make your week and life better inspired by Ravenna. 👇

  • Move your body daily.
  • Nourish yourself with good nutrition and hydration.
  • Explore the world.
  • Start that passionate based business you have been dreaming about (even as a side hustle to start)
  • Take calculated risks.
  • Live Boldy.

After all, the road less traveled leads to fulfillment. 💯

Emotions are a powerful tool. 150 150 Bryce Henson

Emotions are a powerful tool.

In leading yourself, realize that emotions are a powerful tool.

Unfortunately, many people let their emotions take control and why they get a bad rap in leadership (rightfully so).

But as a leader, you have to do the opposite.

Embrace your emotions as that what makes you human.

Use them as a tool for growth.

As you must be in control, not the reverse.

To illustrate this, I will leave you with insights from Tim Grover, former personal trainer to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant and author of “Relentless”.

In the book, he cites that both players used to “unleash 48 minutes of controlled rage at their opponents”.

The 2 words are “control” and “rage”.

If harnessed, properly channeled emotions can be a superpower.

Monday Mindset – 2 Lessons from my nephew Ryder… 150 150 Bryce Henson

Monday Mindset – 2 Lessons from my nephew Ryder…

I hope you had a nice Easter Weekend. 🐣

Mine was fantastic as it was the first time I was around children in a very long time to celebrate.

My brother Barrett was also in town, who is the Director of Coaching and Profitability for our brand. We had some business meetings last week and timed it so we could visit our sister Emma and our nephew Ryder on Saturday & Sunday late afternoon.

And speaking of Ryder.. 👦🏼

The little man is 18 months old and a tank. He’s high on life, has tons of energy, and is seemingly interesting in every little thing he notices.

And in spending some time with him, I picked up 2 lessons from him that you will get value from. 👇

  1. After swimming with him, playing with him, chasing and walking with him, it occurred to me how present he is. Yes, he does believe he is the center of the universe which is a core tenant of human nature and something we should all be aware of.

But his absolute presence is incredibly powerful as his whole universe is the 3 feet directly in front of him. That’s it.

No other worries or competing thoughts. His entire focus wrapped up in the 3 feet directly in front of his nose.

He’s there, completely engaged in the immediate.  Powerful. 💥

  1. The 2nd lesson is his sheer persistence and willingness to get back up again and again, and again, and yet again after he falls.

His unwavering relentlessness is something to note, applaud and learn from. As no matter how many times he falls, he keeps pressing forward with seemingly even more enthusiasm the next time.

So, there you have it!

Being 1) completely present and 2) absolutely relentless in your pursuits are your 2 lessons from Ryder this week which will set you up for more success in your fitness and life.  💪

Leadership is about solving problems 150 150 Bryce Henson

Leadership is about solving problems

Candidly, I have to remind myself of this on the tough days which many times are more often than the lighter ones.

Leadership at its core is about solving problems.

The bigger problems you can solve, the better leader you will become.

And consequently, the more money income you will receive.

Thus, do not complain or shy away from problems.

Realize the value of leadership is having problems to solve.

Embrace them, solve them, and level up your leadership.

Monday Mindset – Change: the only constant 150 150 Bryce Henson

Monday Mindset – Change: the only constant

Yesterday, I just shared the news of Tatiana and I transitioning out of ownership at our first location of Yorba Linda Fit Body effective today.

This is so we can focus more consolidated energy on overseeing our Mission Viejo Fit Body location with a consolidated local team focus. And so that I can also have more time to oversee the Fit Body brand as your CEO.

This is a win for everyone. 💯

Tatiana will still be on-site in Yorba Linda through the end of April to ensure a strong transition before she transitions more support to our MV team. As we are passing the ownership torch to 2 beautifully inspiring ladies in Coach Ari and Andria Lopez who will pour the clients, team, and location for years to come

Below is my Monday Mindset sendoff message to Yorba Linda this morning and know you will get value from the takeaway as well about embracing and driving change being the only constant in life.

PS Tatiana and I are excited to be able to spend more time with you beginning in May!

It was a cold, dark, and rainy morning on November 5, 2012. This is when we opened the doors of Yorba Linda Fit Body for the very first time.

I had just spent the last 2 years abroad on the little island of Florianopolis, Brazil where I met and lived with Tatiana and her family. 🏝

A few months earlier I had just returned to Orange County to lay the foundation for our little fitness/boot camp business that would eventually become Yorba Linda Fit Body.

Tatiana arrived on Halloween and just a few days prior to launch, as we sorted out her visa paperwork just in time for our Grand Opening (if you could even call it that).

We knew our country’s overall health and obesity problem was getting worse by the year which this passion was matched by the inspiration from our own physical transformations a few years prior.

So, we decided to invest our life savings in this little dream to help our community in Yorba Linda get healthy and fit. 💪

We opened that cold, dark, and rainy morning in November with four walls, some mats, and no equipment as we couldn’t afford it. The lighting was poor, and the location looked extremely different than the fully stocked facility we now call home.

We put every dollar we had into the lease and all the upfront costs that come with any business endeavor so didn’t have much financial breathing room to spend on “frills”.

I also asked my sister Emma who was living in LA at the time to join the full list of sessions to “make the sessions look fuller”.

My friends Leslie and Bo, who are still members, were there and we started the session by sharing our gratitude list.

Candidly, I was so scared to be running those first sessions.

Actually, “terrified” is the more accurate word. 😱

But at the same time, I was incredibly excited to be supporting people in their health and fitness journey, because fitness touched Tatiana and my life so deeply.

Fast forward, nearly a decade, and never would I have ever imagined the blessings that would occur from that start. The friendships, deep relationships, and the incredible community we would bring together.

What a spectacular ride and I can say honestly and humbly, Tatiana and I couldn’t have asked for nothing more. In fact, I’m in tears as I write this..

This in mind, life has its seasons and it’s now the season for these 2 new amazing, beautiful women in Andria and Ari to take over the mission of Inspiring Fitness & Changing Lives Every Day in our Yorba Linda community with their teams support, as it still continues and even stronger than ever!

Tatiana and I want to thank you deeply for your love, your support, and contribution to our little dream. In return, we hope we have provided you with immense value whether you have been with us for 9 years or days. ❤️

And rest assured, that the best is yet to come. As I am here with a reminder that change is the only constant in life which is today’s message.

Instead of running from it, we must embrace it as it’s the only thing constant in life! This concept is so important, especially in the transformation business, and why we have made “Embracing and Driving Change” a global Fit Body core value.

Rest assured, Tatiana and I are on-site to support for the next few weeks and will be excited to deliver our last training session on the mic on Saturday, April 30 as we transition out of ownership. And past that, we are excited to continue to hear of your ongoing success as you are in very good hands with Andria, Ari, and our team as we want to stay connected.

You will begin hearing from Coach Ari next week and will leave you with this quote. 👇

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” -Socrates

Love and incredible gratitude,

-Coach Bryce

Leading from the front 150 150 Bryce Henson

Leading from the front

Leading from the front.

As a leader, it’s essential you develop delegation skills. Ultimately, you are orchestrating your team’s performance so you need to have a higher-level perspective of the entire mission. This skill will aid you in ensuring better execution for the benefit of your team, clients, and following.

Although the dichotomy of leadership is that you also must never lose the willingness to lead from the front.

As there are many times you must roll up your sleeves and do the dirty work when needed. This too will give you the needed ground-level perspective and also garnish support from your team.

In summation, delegate early and often. But keep in mind that you should never ask anyone to do something you wouldn’t be willing to do yourself. This is effective leadership.

Onward.

Monday Mindset – The Hidden Cost.. 150 150 Bryce Henson

Monday Mindset – The Hidden Cost..

I read this recently and wanted to share as it’s oh-so-true as I know you will get value!

  • A Big Mac does NOT cost $3.99.  It costs your health. 🍔
  • Netflix does NOT cost $17.99. It costs your time. ⏱️
  • Social media does NOT cost $0. It costs your attention and focus. 📱

Remember.. ✅

There is ALWAYS a hidden cost to everything.

Be intentional and choose wisely.

Much love and respect,

-Coach Bryce

“There are no bad teams, only bad leaders 150 150 Bryce Henson

“There are no bad teams, only bad leaders

“There are no bad teams, only bad leaders.” – Jocko Willink

This is a tough pill to swallow for any young leader, but it’s the truth.

The leader’s attitude sets the tone for the entire team.  The leader drives performance – or doesn’t.

This applies not just to the most senior leader of an overall team, but to the junior leaders of teams within the team.

As leadership is needed at every level up and down the chain if an organization is to be successful.

Monday Mindset – Fit Body’s solution to help combat extreme poverty in the war-torn Ukraine 150 150 Bryce Henson

Monday Mindset – Fit Body’s solution to help combat extreme poverty in the war-torn Ukraine

Happy Mindset Monday! 🙌

Our franchise-wide Spring Challenge kicks off today with thousands of men and women around North America taking a massive step towards their fitness goals.

This inspires me deeply and I hope it does the same for you! 👊

As getting healthy and fit is one of the most selfish and selfless things you can do.

Yes, selfish because it helps you. Although it is also incredibly selfless as when you get better, you make everyone around you better.

And if that wasn’t enough, our global Fit Body clients are also answering the call to help combat extreme poverty in Ukraine while getting fit in the process.

As sadly, extreme poverty is still a reality we face even in our modern-day.

And the unprovoked actions taken by Russia’s Vladimir Putin against the people of Ukraine have made the problem in this region exponentially worse.

Thus, with our Fit Body client’s help, we are answering the call. 🤙

Every time our members work out at a session and also check in on Facebook or Instagram through the months of April-June, each of our global locations will donate to ChildFund.org to help the Ukrainian relief effort.

This is selflessness in its highest forms. ❤️

In conclusion, my message for today…

Thank you for investing in your health and fitness. Thank you for trusting us as your fitness coaches and our brand. Thank you for following along with our email content designed to uplift you. Thank you for checking in and coming together to do some good in the process. And thank you for sharing this national piece of press we were recently featured in, as the cause is building momentum thanks to you! 🙏

“Early to Bed, Early to Rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” 150 150 Bryce Henson

“Early to Bed, Early to Rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.”

I read this quote by Benjamin Franklin in the fall of 2003. It stuck with me deep in my subconscious but I admittedly I didn’t take action until 2008.

Although single-handedly, it’s made me a better leader of myself primarily, which is 70% of leadership

And then consequently a better leader of others as a ripple effect.

“Early to Bed, Early to Rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”

Simple, not easy as it requires self-discipline. But I highly recommend following its guidance for the betterment of yourself and your team as the 3 promises have held true for me and will for you.
