[Monday Mindset]: The Freedom They Can’t Take From You

Happy Monday Mindset!

Last week, I revisited a place that shakes you to your core—Auschwitz.

Adolf Hitler’s most famous concentration camp.

No, it wasn’t easy. But leadership isn’t about doing what’s easy.

It’s about seeing clearly. And sometimes, clarity requires stepping into history’s harshest truths.

You see, I believe real leadership studies all of human nature—not just the triumphs, but the tragedies. Not just the highlight reel, but the horror.

That’s where Viktor Frankl’s story echoes.

Imprisoned in Auschwitz. Family murdered. Yet somehow, he emerged not just with his life—but with a mindset that has changed millions and my own.

His insight?

“The last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances.”

Let that sink in.

You can lose your comforts.

You can lose your control.

But you can never lose the ability to choose how you respond.

That’s the deepest form of resilience.

It’s also the foundation of self-leadership.

So when this week throws you curveballs—and it will—don’t default to frustration.

Pause. Breathe. Choose.

Choose grit.

Choose grace.

Choose growth.

Because while adversity may test you, your mindset is yours. Always.

[Monday Mindset]: The Real Reason We Work So Hard

Happy Monday Mindset,

This past week, I flew to Poland for a family wedding.

Extended family.

Foreign country.

A million reasons not to go.

I’d already traveled this year. Our team is deep in development mode, planning for some big Fit Body 2026 moves.

My calendar? Maxed.

Honestly, I was leaning “no.”

Until a conversation with my brother Barrett changed everything.

He told me he was in.

And in that moment, I paused.

Reassessed.

You see, this trip wasn’t just about a wedding. It was about our mom.

She hasn’t left the U.S. since I was born. And at this stage in her life, this wasn’t just a vacation—it was a bucket list moment.

The kind of thing you don’t get a second shot at.

And I realized something…

This is why we grind.

This is why we build.

This is why we lead.

Not just to hit revenue goals or optimize KPIs.

But so we can show up for the people who matter most when it counts.

That’s the mindset message today: Zoom out.

Yes, the work is important.

But don’t let your mission cost you the memories.

Because when the meetings are done and the milestones hit…

It’s the moments with your loved ones that matter most.

Remember: Success means nothing if you’re too busy to enjoy it.

Be grateful this week.

[Monday Mindset] The Power of Guidance (And Why I Almost Missed It) 150 150 Bryce Henson

[Monday Mindset] The Power of Guidance (And Why I Almost Missed It)

Happy Monday Mindset!

Earlier this year, I hit a wall.

Business was testing me—hard. Projects weren’t moving, dynamics outside my control were brewing, and frustration mounted.

You’ve been there, too.

No one escapes the grind of entrepreneurship unscathed.

After a particularly brutal meeting in July, I had a wake-up call: I was focused on everything I couldn’t control and neglecting what I could.

Specifically? My spiritual and emotional rhythm.

I hadn’t been showing up consistently to my 12-step meetings—life had gotten in the way.

While I stayed sober, I wasn’t tapped in.

So that night, despite resistance, I went to a meeting.

It wasn’t great… until Nate spoke.

68 years old. Nearly two decades sober. A commanding presence. Wisdom and truth dripping from his voice—and it landed like a thunderbolt.

I knew I needed to recommit. New cadence. New sponsor. A fresh run through the steps.

We’ve been working together since. And I’m back—clearer, stronger, more aligned with my Creator and leadership path than I’ve been in years.

The lesson?

Leaders need leaders. Coaches. Mentors. Guides. Especially when we think we don’t.

If you’re grinding through adversity—look up. Seek guidance. Because the wisdom you need might come from someone who’s quietly 10 steps ahead… waiting to speak directly to your soul.

Make it a GREAT week!

[Monday Mindset] Proximity Changes Everything 150 150 Bryce Henson

[Monday Mindset] Proximity Changes Everything

Happy Monday Mindset!

A few weeks back, I reconnected with an old friend—Brian Buntz.

He was in SoCal for his son’s soccer tournament, and I got to spend the afternoon with him, his beautiful wife, and Tatiana. And man… it reminded me how one relationship can alter your entire trajectory.

Back in the day, Brian didn’t just look like your typical All-American guy—he was that guy. And then he’d open his mouth and speak flawless Spanish.

Not textbook Spanish—Guatemalan Spanish.

Because he’d lived there. Immersed himself. Served in the Peace Corps. Studied culture, not just language.

He was a big reason I ever started learning Portuguese—and the reason my boss agreed to let me move to Brazil due to this support.

Without him, that chapter of my life may never have happened, nor would I have met Tatiana.

Why does this matter for you?

Because experience + relationships = exponential growth.

We chase tactics, books, webinars—but it’s who you’re around and what you expose yourself to that changes everything.

Brian gave me proximity to a version of myself I hadn’t yet stepped into. He didn’t do it with hype. He did it by living it.

By doing so, he changed my life, and I am forever grateful. And I write these messages in hope that I can do the same for you in my small way.

So here’s your mindset message:

You don’t grow in isolation. You grow through immersion.

Proximity is power. Relationships are rocket fuel. And if you’re not being shaped by the people around you, it might be time to change your environment.

Make it a GREAT week!

[TAIA]: Faith, Friendship & 1,000 Lunges

Happy Monday Mindset!

Last month, I joined my buddies CJ and Joey at a men’s Christian retreat in Texas. Both are rock star owners in our brand—and even more importantly—good friends.

The retreat was put on by my friend Steve. If you Googled him 10 years ago, you’d see all the outward success anyone could want: an NFL career, a Super Bowl win (beating Tom Brady, no less), even a Men’s Fitness cover.

But behind the curtain? He was broken. Addicted to dopamine, women, drugs, and alcohol—spiraling out of control.

Then, in 2018, Steve had a radical encounter with the Holy Spirit. It transformed his life, his marriage, and his purpose.

Now, I can’t relate to the Super Bowl rings or magazine covers.

But I can relate to abusing drugs and alcohol—and to knowing what it feels like to be empty and in need of a recharge.

My own recovery started in January 2017.

And that’s why I reached out to CJ and Joey, both men of faith. Together, we spent the weekend leaning into something bigger.

It wasn’t easy. We shared our shortcomings and reflected. We pushed through 1,000 lunges and endured ice baths.

We practiced what I call Deliberate Discomfort—a key theme in my upcoming book, Turn Adversity Into Advantage (early 2026 release).

And guess what? It was exactly what I needed.

Since then, I’ve reconnected with my 12-step sponsor, and I’m more grounded in my faith.

Here’s the takeaway: your biggest breakthroughs often come through your biggest discomforts.

And when you surround yourself with good-hearted friends to walk with you through it, the journey becomes that much more powerful.

Make it a GREAT week!

[TAIA]: The Language of Discomfort 🇧🇷 150 150 Bryce Henson

[TAIA]: The Language of Discomfort 🇧🇷

Happy Monday Mindset!

In August 2010, I packed two bags, boarded a plane to Brazil, and landed in the unknown—language, culture, everything.

It was a dream… but also a test.

I wanted the growth that only discomfort could give.

That very day, I met Tatiana—my now wife—through a mutual friend. She spoke perfect English.

I didn’t speak a word of Portuguese.

And while her mom, Cristina, isn’t a professional teacher, she became mine. Like a second mom, she patiently guided me through the basics and built the foundation of my fluency.

I lived in Brazil for two years. And with Cristina’s support and daily immersion, I learned the foundation of the language.

Then life evolved…

Tatiana and I moved back to the U.S., built a life, and spent the next 15 years speaking English—because it was easier.

Because it worked.

But here’s the rub…

I’ve always dreamed of delivering my keynote derived from my book Turn Adversity Into Advantage in fluent Portuguese to a Brazilian company.

That dream has a cost.

And the price?

Stepping back into the discomfort.

This summer, after a growth conference and a conversation with my Italian buddy Julian, I realized it was time to lean back in.

So in July, Tatiana and I flipped the script. After 15 years, we made Portuguese our new home language.

It’s awkward. Clunky. Humbling.

But I’m reminded:

Growth never lives in comfort.

It lives on the other side of resistance—whether in marriage, language, or leadership.

So, if there’s something in your life you’ve avoided because it’s uncomfortable?

That’s probably the very thing you need to pursue.

Remember: Adversity is your advantage.

Even when it sounds like a foreign language.

Make it a GREAT week!

[TAIA]: Morning Routines Are Not the Goal (Here’s What Is) 150 150 Bryce Henson

[TAIA]: Morning Routines Are Not the Goal (Here’s What Is)

Happy Monday Mindset!

I just dropped a video walking you through my morning routine.

But here’s what I didn’t say in the video—and it’s probably the most important lesson.

Your morning routine isn’t the goal.  It’s the gateway.

A good routine doesn’t need to look like a scene out of a wellness influencer’s reel.

It doesn’t require a gong, a 90-minute meditation, and hand-harvested matcha from the hills of Kyoto.

Mine is simple: Intentional.

And built for one purpose around the key essentials:

🔥 Create energy.
🔥 Build momentum.
🔥 And get to work by 6AM.

Because success doesn’t wait.

It rewards the person who’s already moving while others are still wiping the sleep from their eyes.

The good news?

Your routine doesn’t need to be perfect.

But it does need to be optimized—to fuel YOUR day, YOUR goals, and YOUR mission.

Over time, you’ll refine it. You’ll dial it in.

You’ll cut what doesn’t serve you.

But it starts by identifying the essentials that light a fire under you and get you moving.

So yes—watch my video

Borrow what works.

But then build your own version that unlocks your edge.

Because the real value of a morning routine isn’t the routine itself…

It’s the momentum that puts you in a position to win—before the rest of the world is even awake.

Let’s make it a great week!

[AIYA]: Heavy But Hopeful 💔💡 150 150 Bryce Henson

[AIYA]: Heavy But Hopeful 💔💡

Happy Monday Mindset,

Last week carried a heavy emotional weight.

From the remembrance of 9/11, to the school shootings in Colorado, to the random acts of violence, to the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk—it was a lot to process. 😔

And while I’ll stay in my lane of mindset and leadership, I can’t ignore the deeper pull this moment creates.

Because here’s the truth:

We don’t need less dialogue—we need more.

Great leadership doesn’t just speak.

It listens.

Especially when it’s hard.

Especially when voices differ.

Especially when the noise gets loud.

It’s easy to shut down what you don’t understand.

It’s convenient to cancel, label, or censor.

But easy rarely leads to excellence.

If we want to grow—as leaders, as teams, as a society—we must lean into honest conversations

That includes the good, the bad, and even the downright uncomfortable. 🎯

Censorship is a shortcut that kills curiosity.

And curiosity?

That’s the foundation of progress.

Yes, I’m concerned about the rise of violence.

Yes, I’m disturbed by the media fanning the flames.

And while tested, I’m still bullish on humanity. 💪

Because I believe in the power of perspective.

I believe that good ideas rise and bad ones fall—not when we silence dissent, but when we create space for all ideas to be seen and challenged.

So here’s today’s mindset message:

  • Create space.
  • Ask better questions.
  • Stay curious—even when it’s uncomfortable.

Lead with a heavy but hopeful heart.

Because when light meets darkness, clarity follows. 🔦

Head up and onward toward our mission.

[AIYA]: The One Word That Got Me Running Again 150 150 Bryce Henson

[AIYA]: The One Word That Got Me Running Again

Happy Monday Mindset!

Last fall, I was mid-run on the treadmill—my go-to form of meditation—when my legs locked up like a vice.

Tightness. A sharp pull.

And boom—I was limping off.

The body sent bad news.

But worse, so did my mind.

Because running is where I clear the mental clutter.

Where the ideas flow.

It’s sacred.

And I knew—if I ignored this, I was projecting myself into long-term pain.

Literally and figuratively.

So I did what I always do when faced with adversity:

I got curious. I asked questions. I sought guidance.

I hired a stretch coach.

The first few sessions?

Brutal.

But I kept showing up.

And to anchor my focus, I chose one word for 2025: Flexibility.

Not just physical.

But mental.

Emotional.

Strategic.

Fast forward: over 100 stretch sessions and one weekly yoga practice later…

I’m back.

Running without pain.

Lifting without fear.

Free again.

Not because it was easy.

But because I faced the friction and leaned in.

That’s the power of coaching.

That’s the power of momentum.

That’s the power of deciding you’re not going to be a victim of your own circumstance.

And THAT is what turning adversity into advantage looks like.

Remember:

Turn adversity into advantage.

[AIYA]: The Ripple Effect of Mentorship 150 150 Bryce Henson

[AIYA]: The Ripple Effect of Mentorship

Happy Monday Mindset!

Last week, I had lunch with Diego, the son of my longtime friend and early mentor Brian.

It was one of those full-circle moments that made me pause.

I met Brian on my 21st birthday in Santa Barbara—what started as a wild weekend turned into a life-changing relationship.

He became a mentor throughout my entire twenties, shaping the man I am today.

Brian’s the real deal—California roots, college in Iowa, fluent in Spanish, Peace Corps vet, and founder of Dream Volunteers—a nonprofit impacting communities around the globe.

He even sponsored my NASM personal training certification, launching me into fitness and is featured in my first book, Turn Adversity Into Advantage, which releases in early 2026.

Get ready! 💪

Without him, there’s no Fit Body CEO story to tell.

Fast forward 21 years:

I’m mentoring his son.

Diego’s a bright young man, crushing his second summer sales internship and asking the right questions about becoming a fitness coach.

I gave him the playbook.

Why does this matter?

Because the most successful leaders—those who win long-term—never walk the path alone.

They seek guidance. They receive. And then, they give.

That’s the secret.

Mentorship isn’t a luxury. It’s oxygen.

You got where you are because someone ahead of you reached back. And someone’s behind you, waiting for your hand.

So here’s the mindset shift:

Seek out wisdom. Apply it. Then pass it on.

If you’re winning, look around—who can you help?

Because the ripple effect is real.

And when you lead others with the same generosity you were given?

That’s how you live the life you were destined to live!

Remember:

Turn adversity into advantage,
