Fit Body Attempts Guinness Book of World Record for a Cause

Yes, you read that right. šŸ‘

This past Saturday I was in Grand Rapids Michigan supporting one of my best friends and Franchise Partners Matt Wilber.

He and a team of 7 West Michigan Fit Body locations organized a group Jumping Jack Work Out which was an official attempt at the Guinness Book of World Records.šŸ”„

There were over 1,500 people in attendance.Ā

The energy was electric!!āš”ļø

Sadly we came up short by roughly 750 participants.

While bummed we didn’t break the record.

There was a GIANT silver lining..

Our Fit Body clients donated nearly 100K for the Big Give Non-profit. Which means over 1,000 underprivileged kids in West Michigan will have a Christmas.šŸŽ„

This, my friend, was the fundamental reason for the event.

So ultimately it was a historic win!!šŸ™Œ

There was so much love and support from Matt, our Fit Body team, clients, and the community in the Midwest.

We did a lot of good in the process.

I hope this inspires you to take part in our incredible brand whose mission is to Inspire Fitness & Change Lives here in Mission Viejo AND in our local communities across North America!

The best part?

Next year when we officially break the record..Ā

It will be that much sweeter.

The 5 C’s of the leadership framework is Consistency. 150 150 Bryce Henson

The 5 C’s of the leadership framework is Consistency.

The 5 C’s of the leadership framework is Consistency.Ā

As its essence, Consistency is trust.Ā

And without trust, a leader is ineffective and the team & mission break down.

The cold hard truth.Ā So if you want to separate yourself, begin cleaning up your consistency.

  • Email on a schedule.
  • Meet on a schedule
  • Work out on a schedule.

Consistency is both predictability & trust which is a great thing when you lead!

So my message today is to clean up your consistency and level up your leadership.

[MM] Fit Body on FOX – the countries biggest health crisis

Happy Monday! šŸ™Œ

I am excited to go back home after a 10-day trip to the midwest!

There were many highlights including being featured on FOX 2 News Detroit with my brother Barrett. Barrett is a Fit Body owner in Michigan and Executive Director of Coaching for the brand.

It was really fun following his lead and seeing the great relationship he has built with the station which gives a platform to discuss health and wellness.šŸ’„

Specifically, FOX 2 recently reached out to him and brought us on to cover the Obesity Epidemic. As statistically it has been and continues to be the most severe health crisis our country faces.Ā

In fact, it was the root cause of 80% of COVID’s hospitalizations and fatalities. And sadly, the problem has become even worse in the last few years. šŸ’Æ

Below are some stats from the CDC.

The scariest part? 😱

These are pre-COVID. They are now much worse.Ā

  • 42.4% of Adults in the US are defined as ObeseĀ
  • 32% of adults in the US are defined as OverweightĀ
  • 20% of children in the US are defined as ObeseĀ

And the most challenging part of being a Fitness Coach is when I get the response,Ā ā€œBryce, I cannot afford to get fit.ā€Ā

My response?

You cannot afford not to be fit. āœ…

As the CDC’s data shows it costs the average Obese AmericanĀ $1,500/yearĀ more in health care costs and nearlyĀ $200 BILLION dollarsĀ collectively as a country.Ā

Both scary and mind-boggling.Ā

The takeaway?

You either pay for your fitness or sickness. The choice is yours.šŸ‘Š

The best part?

My team and I are here to help which is my message for today!šŸ™

Lean on us and do it often! We are PASSIONATE about beating this and here for you! So please reach out!šŸ‘

Communication is the 4th C in effective leadership 150 150 Bryce Henson

Communication is the 4th C in effective leadership

Communication is the 4th C in effective leadership.Ā

From Kennedy to Hitler (yes he was a horrible person but great leader), to Martin Luther King Jr., great leadership requires strong communication. In fact, you cannot show me a strong leader without this ability.Ā

This is especially true in today’s technological age. As there are many modalities to master.

From 1-1 meetings, weekly L10’s, boardroom presentations, broadcast emails, live videos on social media, Zoom presentations, and speaking on stage to hundreds, or thousands of people…

There are many ways to communicate.Ā Ā

Which also means there are many opportunities to improve this critical skill which will add to your leadership ability.

Connection is the next C in the 5 step framework of leadership. 150 150 Bryce Henson

Connection is the next C in the 5 step framework of leadership.

Connection is the next C in the 5 step framework of leadership.

Why?

Leadership is about being able to build deep connections with others. Otherwise known as relationships.

In fact, in order to acquire leadership capital with your following, you have to build strong relationships.Ā

There’s no other way.

As without deep connection, it’s an uphill battle to lead.

The secret?

You must inherently like people.

Such a basic concept, but mission critical in your leadership.

If you do, you have an incredible advantage as building connections becomes much easier.

As when you do create connections, you increase your influence and can lead at a higher level.

[MM] A White Belt Mentality 768 1024 Bryce Henson

[MM] A White Belt Mentality

BOOM!šŸ’„

That was the loud sound of my friend James slamming me on the mat at my first Brazilian Jitsu session on Saturday.

The experience was extremely, extremely, extremely humbling to say the least.

While I pride myself on my fitness and athleticism, I was thrown around like a rag doll.šŸ‘Ž

Candidly, I was no match for James who has been training for the better part of a decade.Ā

In fact, Saturday reminded me of my very first personal training session in January 2007. I felt awkward, scared, uncomfortable, and so out of place.

And I would imagine the exact same feeling as many of our newbies who enrolled in our brand-wide Fall Challenge which kicks off today.

Excited and nervous all at the same time.Ā

There is something special and needed, in taking a bit of humble pie, putting on your proverbial white belt on and pushing through your comfort zone.

As your comfort zone is where all the growth, the breakthroughs, the happier and better version of you remains.

But the secret is being willing to put that while belt on and start. šŸ”„

To startĀ is always the hardest and scariest part.Ā

But when you do, and while incredibly challenging in the moment..

Eventually, the world opens up to you and your life gets better. Just as long as you stay strong and don’t quit. šŸ‘Š

That’s been my experience with fitness and life. šŸ’Ŗ

And I want that for you. šŸ’Æ

Make it a great week!

[MM] ā€œThere’s money in the transaction, but wealth in the….ā€

I had a big learning lesson that I wanted to share with you from last week regarding my former housecleaner. šŸ’„

She was introduced by a referral and have been working with her for the last 6 months. She comes once per month.Ā

Overall, she’s friendly and has done a decently good job according to my wife Tatiana.

But this past Thursday evening when I arrived home from our Headquarters, I found Tatiana on her knees outside my office door trying to pick the lock.

Her fingers were bruised as she had spent the last 30 minutes trying to unlock the door.Ā

It turns out that when our cleaner came, she accidentally locked and closed the door before leaving.Ā

Since Tatiana was trying to solve it, I quickly gave the cleaner a buzz and asked if she could help. The alternative was to hire a locksmith for $200.

Unfortunately, that is what we ended up having to do.Ā

And this was just after the $250 house cleaning. Ouch!šŸ˜“

And the worst part is that our cleaner made no offer to help, and even pointed the blame at us asĀ ā€œshe doesn’t lock doors, only closes them so had to be your faultā€.

She then messaged Tatiana the next day to confirm our next monthly cleaning. Unfortunately, that’s a no-go and the last time we will work together.

Now to be fair, if she made any effort to help and/or was willing to split the cost of the locksmith, that would have been sufficient.Ā

Stuff happens and heaven knows I make my fair share of mistakes.Ā

No issues on my end, as we all do.

However, nothing was offered to make the oversight right. Nothing at all, other than turning the blame on her client.Ā

As you would imagine, we felt very disappointed and will no longer be working with her again. As when the next thing breaks, I definitely know it will be our fault again.šŸ‘Š

While bummed, there’s a lesson here.āš”ļø

When you make a mistake, take full responsibility and then make it right.Ā

Simple as that.šŸ‘

Personally, that’s a good rule to live by.

And in the business world which you can also apply to your profession, my saying about short term/long term thinking..

ā€œThere’s money in the transaction, but wealth in the relationship.ā€

So sometimes you have to forgo the transaction, make the situation right to guard your relationships, and tap into true long-term wealth.

Make it a great week!

Courage is the next C in the 5 step framework of leadership. 150 150 Bryce Henson

Courage is the next C in the 5 step framework of leadership.

Taking a step back..

Leadership is about being vulnerable. It’s about going against the grain.Ā

In fact, many times leadership requires you to put your neck on the line to direct change.

This is a fundamental aspect of leadership.

In order to do this… you need courage.

WHY?

Humans are wired to avoid conflict. That’s a fundamental truth of human nature and how our species evolved.Ā

And yes, there are many advantages to this wiring.

But many disadvantages as well, specifically when it comes to leading positive change.

So in order to lead, you have to have the guts to push forward in the face of resistance. To put your neck on the line for the betterment of your team and clients. Even if it’s the ā€œunpopularā€ thing to do at the moment.Ā

A strong leader has to choose progress over popularity.

And COURAGE is the main ingredient in this formula to success.

This is the bottom line.

My friend, I wish there was a softer and easier way.Ā

But there’s not.

The good news?

Courage is a muscle that can be developed.Ā

The more you flex it, the stronger your courage becomes.

My message today?

If you want to level up your leadership, you have to level up your COURAGE.Ā

So keep flexing your courage muscle, you will develop more of it, and be well on your way to being the leader our community needs.

[MM] Whats your deep er reason? 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM] Whats your deep er reason?

I cannot believe September and Labor Day is already here!šŸ’„

As we enter the ā€œFall seasonā€ which is busy with football and back-to-school events..Ā

It made me stop and think about what’s really important in life..

So asked myself this question..šŸ¤”

Why do most people want to get back in the gym after summer and focus on their fitness & nutrition again?

The most common answers are to lose weight, to get toned, and to get into better shape..

Yes, all of those answers would be accurate.šŸ’Æ

However, I wasn’t inquiring about the surface-level answers.

Rather, the deeper rooted reasons..

If I look internally, the real reason I focus on my health and fitness is so that I can feel better, have more confidence, and be a better support system for myself and my family.

And if you are anything like me, it’s probably the same for you..

Yes – weight loss and muscle building & toning contain big benefits.

But the true value of being healthy and fit is to have better energy & life so you have more time with your loved ones.

With this in mind, my message and call to action todayĀ is to always keep the main thing – the main thing!

Focus on you, your health, and fitness, so that you can be there for your family and loved ones. šŸ’Ŗ

I took a little time to do that this weekend with my wife Tatiana, brotherĀ  Barrett, sister Emma, brother-in-law, and nephews.

And I hope you did the same over this holiday weekend.

If not, what are you waiting for?Ā

The time is now.ā±

Make it a great week!
