Monday Mindset

[MM]: Change the toilet paper 1001 1024 Bryce Henson

[MM]: Change the toilet paper

Happy Monday Mindset! 🙌

I was out to a sushi with my 2 friends and colleagues last weekend.

We finished a great meal, and just when I was about to leave.

I figured it was a good idea to use the gentleman’s room as I hydrated well and in case I hit traffic.

I walked in and saw the sign on the wall.

It immediately caught my attention and thought of you.

Why?

The simplicity and brilliance were profound.

The truth is that in order to be the change in the world we need.

It starts by doing the little things right.

Here are some examples:

  • Pick up trash.
  • Make your bed.
  • Get your morning workout.
  • Keep the promises you make to yourself when no one is watching.
  • Change the toilet paper.

My message today is that BIG things start small.

So start small, pay it forward, and for goodness’ sake…

Change the toilet paper. 🙂

Make it a GREAT week!

Happy Monday Mindset! 🙌

Last month I had my good friend Will come to Fit Body Headquarters.

He’s from the East Coast, moved to California years ago, and is a world-class educator.

Through being a teacher, he realized something alarming.

The education system has good intentions but lacks education around critical thinking.

This is a big problem!

After all, we humans are tribal.

We are evolutionarily wired to go with the grain as thousands of years ago, being kicked from the tribe meant death.

However, what if the crowd is going in the wrong direction?

The truth is history is filled with countless examples of the herd going the wrong way.

This is why he founded Patterdox.

It’s also why as business owners and leaders in our communities, we must learn to critically think.

So my message today is to bring awareness of this gap and to empower you to learn this important skill of critical thinking.

Make it a GREAT week!

[MM]: This 1 thing changed the game 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: This 1 thing changed the game

Happy Monday Mindset! 🙌

I read this quote by Benjamin Frankin during my junior of college.

It stopped me in my tracks at the simplicity but genius of it.

“Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”

I wanted to be healthy, wealthy, and wise so it resonated.

But truth be told.

I didn’t act on it until about 8 years later.

However, when I did, it changed the game.

In fact, without adopting it, I wouldn’t be writing this email today.

I wouldn’t have been a business owner, lived abroad, and ascended to become the CEO of an international fitness franchise.

Why?

When you get a jump on the day, you are more productive.

When you are more productive, you become even more productive.

The law of momentum is real.

The trick?

Get to bed by 9pm.

This will create the momentum for you to rise early and dominate your day.

Make it a GREAT and EARLY Week!

Happy Monday Mindset! 🙌

4,354 days ago, my wife Tatiana and my Fit Body Boot Camp ownership journey began on a cold dark morning in Orange County, California.

The date was November 5, 2012.

I had Tatiana and my sister work out at every session to “make the sessions seem more full” being we started with a whopping 12 free trials.

Our Franchise onboarding support was night and day different back in those days. We now guarantee 100+ paid trials through our owner’s doors.

I digress.

We had 4 walls, mats, no equipment, and no clue on how to run a business. But we did have the support of our franchise and a whole love of passion to Inspire Fitness and Change Lives.

In the following 4,354 days.

We would open 5 locations, meet an incredible amount of amazing clients/teammates, learn how to operate a business, battle a global pandemic, and change alot of lives through our team who are the true heroes.

It would be an understatement to say this experience has changed our lives with plenty of blood, sweat, and tears shed in the process.

As I look back, I am filled with so many emotions.

The biggest is gratitude.

In some ways, November 5, 2012, feels like an eternity ago.

In other ways, it feels like yesterday.

Well, my friend.

Last week on Tuesday, October 1, Tatiana and my Fit Body ownership status changed as we transferred Mission Viejo Fit Body to a new owner Coach Melissa.

This is so that I can focus more on the Fit Body Boot Camp brand as your CEO and so we can have children.

On the 1 hand, I am sad as I write this in tears for this chapter finishing.

On the other hand, I’m filled with joy that it happened.

My message today is that you must embrace & drive change.

It’s the only constant in life.

That’s right, out with the old and with the new.

Yes, it’s scary but needed if you want to live a life of impact, income, and legacy.

Head up and onward.

Make it a GREAT week!

[MM]: My morning routine (the important few) 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: My morning routine (the important few)

Happy Monday Mindset! 🙌

With so many things on my plate running an international fitness franchise, I often get asked this question:

“Bryce, what’s your morning routine?”

The answer is simple.

Turns out, there are only 3 things I do when I wake up before getting to work.

  1. 30-minute full-body workout 🏋️
  2. 10-minutes in the hot sauna 🔥
  3. 215 seconds in the cold plunge at 40-degree water. 🥶

Then I’m at my desk by 6:15am ready to attack the day. 💪

Why?

This creates mental and physical toughness.

It creates momentum.

It creates productivity.

Today’s message?

Most times it’s not the trivial many, but the important few that make the difference.

Move your body and train your mind.

Then get to work!

Make it a GREAT week!

[MM]: Why you must be challenged 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: Why you must be challenged

Happy Monday Mindset! 🙌

Here’s the truth about human nature.

Just like an electrical current.

Humans take the path of least resistance.

Need proof?

Go to the airport or shopping mall and observe the escalator vs. the stairs.

99% of humans will take the easier path of an escalator.

We are just wired this way.

The good news?

The opposite is also true.

When humans are put in situations where we have “to sink or swim”.

We rise to the occasion and swim.

This is why to progress, we must be challenged.

To illustrate my point further.

I’ll leave you with the famous words of Bruce Lee which is my message today.

“Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.”

This is a great prayer.

Your action should be one of self-challenge which will provide you strength.

Have a great week!

[MM]: This 1 thing will change your life

Happy Monday Mindset! 🙌

This past weekend I spent in Scottsdale, AZ at the BK Live event.

What’s BK Live?

It’s a business development & personal growth event hosted by my business partner and Founder of Fit Body Boot Camp, Bedros Keuilian.

I was there because Bedros asked me to give a keynote to teach leadership and delegation.

While I have many weaknesses.

This is my zone of genius so was excited to add value to the business owners and fitness professionals in attendance.

I put together a 6-point framework to help the business owners level up their leadership & delegation skills.

The truth is that I’ve learned from trial and error over the last 12 years as a business leader.

Many good decisions, but my fair share of bad ones which are learning lessons that I can provide to help other leaders.

While I was able to share 5 tactics that the audience can apply as of today.

The 1st foundational leadership principle I taught is self-leadership through dialing in your fitness.

After all, before you can lead your family or a business empire; you need to lead you. In dialing in your fitness, you exercise the ultimate form of self-leadership.

And what I’ve learned in leadership, a big part of it is demonstrating the behaviors you want to see in your team.

This is why I love and have built a career in helping you and others with their fitness.

Fitness is the foundation of a better life and your ability to be a better leader.

So my message today is this.

Whether you want to become a better leader for your company, your community, your family, your kids, or even just you.

Get fit and stay fit.

Yes, dial in your fitness!

When you do.

You develop discipline, create more self-confidence, and will become the leader you, your family, and our community need.

Have a great week!

[MM]: The 3 costs of leadership 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: The 3 costs of leadership

Happy Monday Mindset!

Family! 🙌

I received the below note from my team in light of the World Conference.

The cost of leadership is grounded in truth.

I was humbled and grateful; but most importantly, it made me think of you.

Bryce,

According to Kirby Smart, University of Georgia (Bulldogs) Head Football Coach, there are 3 costs of leadership:

  1. You will have to make hard decisions that negatively impact the people you care about.
  2. You will be disliked despite your best attempts to do the best for the most.
  3. You will be misunderstood and won’t always have the opportunity to defend yourself.

Those are the costs we never asked you to incur, but you do so on our behalf daily.

The brand and our HQ Team are better because of you… and we want to always be improving FOR you, too.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for making this year’s World Conference a priority, and thank you for being there for us!

While it was sent to me, it was for you!

My friend, this is the cost of leadership.

It’s not easy nor for the faint of heart, but worth the impact you create.

Today message?

Leadership is required to create the income and impact you deserve.

So keep leading!

After all, your team, clients, and community are counting on you.

Have a great week!

[MM]: This prayer changed my life. 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: This prayer changed my life.

Happy Monday Mindset!

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.”

I am a recovering alcoholic.

In December of 2016, it became apparent I needed a change after experiencing one of the worst moments of my life.

It wasn’t easy.

But I decided to enroll into a 12 step meeting and will never forget the experience.

It was a Monday evening and I was terrified to walk through the door.

In some ways I didn’t want to, but in many ways I knew needed to.

When the meeting adjourned, the prayer known as the “Serenity Prayer” was said as a group.

It hasn’t left me till this day as I hear it every Monday night.

Its changed my life.

Why?

There’s such beauty and simplicity in the prayer.

You see in life, there’s many things you cannot change.

Accept them and move forward.

This will release frustration.

However, there’s many things you need to change and have the ability.

For these, change them now with no delay.

This will release guilt, and create clarity & freedom.

With time, life experience and a conscious pursuit of wisdom, my hope for us both is that we will be able to tell the difference with more clarity.

Have a great week!

[MM]: Learn this from the person you hate 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: Learn this from the person you hate

Happy Monday Mindset!

Years ago, I listened to a podcast episode by Tim Ferris who is a New York Times Best Selling Author and renowned “Bio Hacker”.

He went on to say that one of the biggest breakthroughs in his life was when he made the active decision to re-frame his anger toward the people that “he hated” by asking himself this question..

“What can I learn from this person?”

Now why would he do this?

Tim believed it creates a liberating mental experience and a source of value from his enemies.

My take?

He is right!

That podcast episode changed my life as I have applied it many times through hard situations.

As a result, I’ve won and want you too. 🙂

A recent example is from 2 weeks ago during my keynote talk to my 525+ Franchise Partners and coaches within the Fit Body brand at our World Conference.

The story of my talk?

The infamous Coach Jim Harbough and the University of Michigan Wolverines winning the 2024 National Championship in college football.

You see, being a Michigan State grad, University of Michigan is my rival.

As you would imagine, it was tough seeing them win a national championship in January of this year.

I don’t like Jim Harbough and wasn’t happy!

The kicker?

I took a step back and studied Jim’s 10 year career as head coach for the University of Michigan.

It led me to uncovering 3 principles on how he led his football program which I’ve now applied to my leadership at Fit Body Boot Camp.

I then went on stage in front of 525+ people and shared insights from their winning seasons and the lessons I learned from the experience.

Most importantly, how the lessons will benefit you, our team, coaches and community.

The result?

My owners and coaches and I just got better from an experience that “I despised”.

The best part?

I feel amazing about it while adding value to my brand!

My message for you today?

The reality is that in life you are going to LOVE a lot of people.

I hope most people for that matter!

However, there’s some that you won’t vibe with, or even worse, you will despise.

This is just life my friend.

Instead of getting angry, frustrated and filled with negative energy stewing on someone who’s crossed you.

Create a mental re-frame and ask yourself this:

“What is 1 thing I can learn from this person?”

Then apply the lesson to your life.

Life changer!

Have a great week!
