Monday Mindset

[MM]: A lesson from Mom! 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: A lesson from Mom!

Happy Monday Mindset!

This week hits differently.

My mom, Donna, who we call “Mother Dove” is Michigan-bound on Wednesday.

She’s been my California roommate since 2014.

Lately, semi-retired, she’s moved between staying with me and my brother Barrett in Michigan.

Post-Christmas, she fled the Midwest freeze for some West Coast fun—and it’s been a blast.

We have had amazing moments.

We’ve squeezed in time for evening dinners.

Hot tub vibes on weekend nights.

Swapped stories from my childhood.

It’s been alot of fun!

While sad, I’m pumped for the next chapter with Barrett where she will spend the rest of the year before bouncing back to California again in January.

But here’s the real talk:

Time moves.

You have less than you think.

In a blink, it’s gone.

My message today?

Put the people you love first!

This is what matters in this thing called life!

[MM]: The Lesson from 2 Guinness Book of World Records

Happy Monday Mindset!

I spent the last week in Houston, Texas for our 1st Mastermind Workshop of the year.

Fit Body Mastermind is a leadership coaching program designed to provide extra leadership training for our owners.

We had a solid crew of presenters who taught about leadership, process, and client experience as our theme.

My buddy Dean Stott kicked it off with a ½ day of leadership training citing his experience in the British Special Forces and in completing 2 Guinness Book of World Records.

I linked my podcast episode with him HERE and below, for the full story we recorded back in 2023.

However, the cliff notes are that he completed the fastest bike ride from the tip of South Argentina through the top of Alaska in 99 days which beat the record by 19 days.

His secret?

In his planning phase, he spoke with the previous world record holders.

All 3 of them started in Alaska and ended in Argentina.

From what they all shared, South America was by far the hardest part of the trip compared to North America due to a variety of factors most notably because of road and political conditions.

Due to his research and planning, he decided to flip the script and attack the hardest part first.

Therefore, he started in Argentina and ended in Alaska which was a contrarian move.

As you would imagine, there were main twists and turns but he overcame them.

This is the mindset lesson I derived:

Do hard first, then life gets easy.

The opposite is true.

Make it a GREAT week!

[MM]: My Level 10 Problem + Your Solution 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: My Level 10 Problem + Your Solution

Happy Monday Mindset!

“OMG, babe, something is wrong, I cannot walk!”

That is what I shrieked in late August to my wife Tatiana as I hopped off the treadmill just finishing my 2-mile run in agonizing pain!

You see, I love to run as it unlocks mental clarity and creativity which is my therapy. I run a couple of miles a day.

However, while I am a fit guy, flexibility and mobility are the weakest part of the fitness game.

The problem?

It became apparent when my legs locked up in the pain due to the tightness. I was now facing a Level 10 problem due to my lack of focus on it.

I realized in that moment, that unless I begin to take action toward increasing my flexibility, there’s a tough road that awaits me.

So the next day I swallowed my pride and researched stretching coaches in my area which led to David.

I walked in on September 10, terrified but knew I needed help.

After the initial stretch, while difficult, I could see the value.

I then asked for a long-term discounted membership.

Why long-term?

Well, I know that 1-2 months of stretching is a good start. However, it’s not going to reverse the 41 years of lack of attention.

So that next week, I got to work with David.

Initially, we met 1x per week and after a few months have now increased it to 2x per week with 1 yoga session on Sundays.

It hasn’t been fun or easy.

In fact, hard, really hard.

However, fast forward nearly 6 months and I just hit my 40th guided stretch.

Am I a rubber band man yet?

No.

However, I’m out of pain and can see significant progress!

Game changer!

My message?

In the words of my friend Craig Ballantyne:

Identify what your Level 10 problem is and then begin to take Level 10 action against it!

This is how you build a better life.

No, it won’t be easy, but if you stick with it, it will be worth it.

Make it a GREAT week!

[MM]: A reminder from Daphe, Alabama

Happy Monday Mindset!

This past weekend I spent in Daphne, Alabama.

I was there with my Fit Body Boot Camp Media team to capture some inspirational content showcasing some amazing transformations of our Fit Body clients.

While that was the business focus.

I was also there to acknowledge our amazing clients of Daphne Fit Body, and my dear friend Steven Hadley.

Steven and I met over 12+ years ago and he’s had a big impact on my life and career. We have learned and grown with each other over the years.

He has a big heart and passion to serve our mission of Inspiring Fitness and Changing Lives which he has done successfully for nearly 15 years.

He’s also a great leader and we have a mutual admiration for the great Nick Saban.

To his big credit, he’s brought massive innovation to our brand so it was a neat opportunity to spend some time with him, his wife Lori, and the team for a win-win.

While there I had a BIG AH-HAH which made me think of you.

With all the hustle, bustle, and distractions in this thing called life.

The truth is that if you have 1) health and 2) relationships with good people who love you, you’re doing well in life.

If you’re anything like me who sometimes forgets this truth.

This weekend was a giant reminder of my blessings.

My hope is you take 2 minutes this Monday and reflect on yours.

Make it a GREAT week!

[MM]: Your #1 Wealth. 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: Your #1 Wealth.

Happy Monday Mindset!

Your Health is Your #1 Wealth.

I was humbly reminded of this famous adage last week.

“A healthy man has a million dreams, a sick man has one.”

Why?

I picked up the flu with a 102 fever for 4 days.

It broke a 2-year no-sick streak.

I was seeing stars, in a world of pain, and it wiped out my week.

It wasn’t fun but was a good reminder of today’s mindset message:

Your Health is Your #1 Wealth.

Invest in it.

Without it, nothing else matters.

Make it a GREAT week!

[MM]: Live Events Change Lives 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: Live Events Change Lives

Happy Monday Mindset!

I spent the weekend in Costa Mesa, California with over 100+ Fit Body Boot Camp coaches from across North America.

My HQ team hosted this Fit Body Elite Coaches Training and the first of 2 main live events of the year.

During the 3 day event, we poured into our coaches to level their knowledge up so they can level up their client’s experience and results.

This creates more impact and income for their location.

Win-win-win!

Looking internally, I was there to teach but I learned.

I learned that there are alot of good people in the world.

I learned that our youth is hungry to learn and grow.

I learned that they want impact and have a work ethic.

Many were 1/2 my age.

However, my biggest takeaway was this reminder:

Live Events Change Lives.

Why?

There’s something magical when humans get together working towards a common mission.

We are tribal and this unlocks a creative and inspiring part of our nature.

As the saying goes:

 “Iron Sharpens Iron”.

Today’s mindset message is this:

Take the shot you’ve been longing to take.

Put yourself out there even though there’s fear.

Attend that event you desire but are nervous to attend.

You will learn, grow, and be inspired to take more action toward a life of income, impact,t, and legacy.

After all:

Live Events Change Lives.

Thank you for your support as the fundraiser ended last week.

The good news is that we raised nearly $7,000 for the California Fire Foundation Relief effort because of you!

Hitting so close to home, I have many thoughts about the tragedy that unfolded.

Most are outside the scope of this email.

However, the 1 consistent thought that hasn’t escaped me is the fragility of life.

As humans, we are programmed to default to the fallacy that life is permanent.

Cognitively though, we know it’s not.

It’s an interesting dichotomy of human nature.

The events of last week were a stark reminder of the value of what’s important, the fragility of life, and how little time we have left.

I hope you let that set in.

As we look to 2025, I also hope you have grand goals that will help you, your family, and your community.

I urge you to reflect and make sure you’ve prioritized what’s truly important.

Yes, financial success is mission-critical so should be a big focus.

However, your goals should include attention to your relationships, loved ones, and the impact on your family and community you can make.

Speaking for myself, I re-prioritized a couple of things for 2025 which is a silver lining of the tragedy.

My hope and message today is for you to do the same!

Head up and onward my friend.

[MM]: Our Mission + The Los Angeles Fires 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: Our Mission + The Los Angeles Fires

Happy Monday Mindset!

I had a different mindset message for you today.

However, will table that until next week.

Why?

It’s no secret, that the recent fires here in Los Angeles, California have taken center stage.

Our country has had a rough go with Mother Nature over the last few months.

This one hits especially close to home.

As such, I’m including a mindset message I sent my Franchise Partners today.

I trust you will get value and would like you to share the message as we unite together to help a bad situation & those in need.

Family!

The good news?

HQ and our Fit Body locations are safe at the moment.

The bad news?

Many others are not so lucky.

As I took a step back with my team this week, we reflected on our mission here at Fit Body Boot Camp.

It is to inspire fitness and change lives.

We do that in many ways.

Mainly through fitness, nutrition, and mindset coaching.

However, we also do that by coming together as a community and helping when others are in need.

Well, my friend, there are many in need.

The people of Los Angeles, California, and most specifically, the California Fire Foundation need our help.

This foundation has the most boots-on-the-ground access to help the victims & provide relief but needs financial resources.

Solition-minded, we are jumping in to help.

We just initiated the Fit Body California Fire Foundation Fundraiser which we will be sharing with our global clients in this Thursday’s BTS newsletter.

Our target is to raise $25,000 by this Friday, January 17.

Here is how:

Donate to the Fit Body California Fire Foundation Fund

We have included some extra swipe files below to help and will be posting some social media graphics on our HQ social for you to share to add to the brand awareness effort.

Time is of the essence.

Thank you for your support and we are excited to inspire fitness and change more lives with your help.

[MM]: 8+ years alcohol-free 150 150 Bryce Henson

[MM]: 8+ years alcohol-free

Happy Monday Mindset!

I hope your 2025 is off to a great start.

I just back from a 12-day trip to Brazil to spend Christmas and New Year with my wife Tatiana’s family.

During the trip, I was there to make good on a promise I made Tatiana’s mom 12 years ago.

I also celebrated a milestone of 8 years of being alcohol-free.

Here’s a little backstory:

For a long time, it was tough to see I had a problem with alcohol.

I was never a daily drinker.

In fact, my drinking became less frequent through my early 30’s.

However, the 2nd truth is it became more aggressive on the times I did drink about a handful of times per month.

For me, when I start, I cannot stop as a craving for more develops.

This is the same craving that sugar induces for most people.

 The problem?

I didn’t understand the craving from my biochemistry made me drink differently than most people.

I was blind to this fact.

As a result, I had bad experiences due to overdrinking that drew on my relationships and self-confidence.

The straw that broke the camel’s back?

It was seeing a loved one with the same problem’s life come in distress.

After a mountain of personal, relational, and legal issues, it became apparent this was a serious issue needing resolving.

My advice was to stop drinking completely and seek help.

Good advice.

However, I realized the cold hard truth that this was advice I needed to take myself.

The realization of being a hypocritic was painful enough that it got me to stop drinking and seek help.

This is my message today.

We all have our cross to bear.

Mine is alcohol.

Yours might be sugar, porn, or gambling to name a few.

Whatever your coping mechanism.

Realize this truth:

There are many people out there who have solved the problem you might be currently going through.

The 2nd truth:

They want to help.

You just must go through enough pain, have the desire, and then dig up all the strength and humility to seek it.

No, it won’t be easy.

Yes, you can make a change.

The best part?

When you do, your life will change just like mine did 8 years ago last week.

If I can be of service, I’m here cheering you on.

Just reply.

Happy Monday and let’s go 2025!

[MM]: The 5 Questions (The Year-End Reflection)

Happy Monday Mindset! 🙌

In the blink of an eye, another year is almost in the books.

Crazy, right?

If you are anything like me.

Every year that passes by, goes by quicker.

I’m sure you can relate.

The truth is that if we don’t take a second to reflect on each year, it will pass us by.

So looking ahead to 2025, help me help you by investing 30 minutes with a pen & paper and completing the below 5 questions.

Doing this practice has been a game-changer for my life.

I want the same for you.

Let’s learn from 2024 and make 2025 the best yet!

Happy New Year!

  1. What’s been your biggest win in 2024?
  2. What’s been your biggest challenge in 2024?
  3. What do you need to start doing in 2025?
  4. What do you need to stop doing in 2025?
  5. If we were meeting here 1 year from today, looking back over the year, what has to have happened for you to feel happy about your progress?
