Monday Mindset – Decide, Commit and Overcome. 🔥🎉

“Bryce, I hate to bother you with this, but we are in a very challenging bind so looking for some ideas…

Due to preexisting issues with the former owners, and then COVID hitting a week before we took the keys to Poway, our landlord just notified us that he is forcing us to move out of location by Thanksgiving. So we need to begin looking at real estate solutions ASAP and looking for some guidance on specifically what to look for…

Needless to say, Gina and I are a mix of incredibly frustrated and completely heartbroken given the situation.

But rest assured, we will do whatever it takes to make sure our clients and team are taken care of. We are invested in them and our team, we absolutely love Fit Body and want to continue changing lives in our community as this is our calling!!!”

This was the opening dialogue from a University coaching conversation with Justin, friend and former owner of Poway Fit Body a few months ago.

Now to lay down the brief backstory….

Justin and his life & business partner Gina (both US Veterans) had entered the Fit Body Brand during the first week of March, a whopping 1 week before shut downs happened. 😱

They didn’t have business ownership experience or good handle on the Fit Body model yet. And entered in the absolutely worst time in the history of the fitness industry! 🙀

But they did have PASSION and HEART towards serving others. ♥️🔥

Now in hindsight, I can tell you from experience that the average owner would have been out of business in 30 days walking into that complex situation. And definitely would have been done after the death notice from the landlord given the pre existing infrastructure problems. 😫

But NOT Justin/Gina..

They had made a decision, committed to it and were willing to do whatever it takes to overcome and serve their people. 🔥

And in a true form of serendipity, Tatiana and I had just come to the realization that due to my prior commitments at FBBC HQ and our 2 Orange County locations much closer to where we live that need continued focus…

That it was going to be in the best interest of our San Marcos clients & team to find owners who were passionate & present in order to best serve the community at the highest of levels. ♥️

In fact, being so impressed with them both, the thought had ran through my mind a couple months prior without the knowledge of their need.

And when the problem was addressed on the call, I already knew the solution given Justin and Gina’s incredibly strong performance, positive mindsets, as the vision was already presented to me..

So that call was the spark that led to a few month transition that would allow Justin & Gina to become the new owners of San Marcos Fit Body Boot Camp which just officially happened today, fresh off celebrating our clients 5 year anniversary on Saturday. 🎉

And while I have no crystal ball, I do know in my heart of hearts with their determination and passion towards serving, they will become two of the most successful owners in the FBBC brand in the coming years. 💪

Which all means the San Marcos clients, team and community are in store for some very bright days!! So while the last 5 years were great, the next 5 will be even better!!☀️☀️

So this all in mind, my message today if you can learn anything from Justin/Gina is this..

Make a decision. Commit to that decision. And as a result,  you will overcome any obstacle in your way! 🤲

Now to be clear…

Yes you will have bad days. 👎🏽

Unforeseen things will come up that take you off the mats and out of camp on occasion. 😫

Your nutrition is going to get derailed from time to time. 🎂🎂

You might even gain a few pounds now and again. 🤭

Life hits hard, and you might have to adjust your strategy or approach. That’s the harsh reality of being human.

But when you have the heart and passion to see your commits through with the mindset laid out above, the Universe will conspire to help you on your health and fitness journey. In addition to our Fit Body team of Fire Breathing Dragon Coaches!! 😉🔥🐉

And when you do….. YOU win, your co-workers win, and your family wins, as everyone gets the best version of YOU!!  💪

But you MUST Decide, Commit and Overcome..

Happy 5 year Anniversary San Marcos clients and team! And HUGE CONGRATS to Coach Justin and Gina, team and clients!!!! 🎉

And make it a great Monday and week! 🏋🏻‍♂️

Committed to your success,

-Coach Bryce

Monday Mindset – 8 years of gratitude 🙏🏼♥️

Happy Monday!

This weekend was a BIG ONE!  🤲

And no I’m not referring to the Presidential Election…

Rather, our team celebrated our clients on Saturday to thank them & YOU for the 8 years of my family starting our first 1st Fit Body Boot Camp location in Yorba Linda.

So for those who might not have seen my Facebook post, I wanted to ensure you got the message of gratitude. 🙏🏼

As what a ride it’s been because without YOU, we have nothing and will never forget that.♥️

So whether you are in our Yorba Linda, Mission Viejo, or San Marcos locations, the feeling and message is the same.

THANK YOU for trusting us with your health and fitness as Tatiana, my team and I are so incredibly grateful for the last 8 years and many more to come!!

In the case you missed it, please read my FB post below. 

-Coach Bryce

PS your call to action is to send someone that you are grateful for a quick note to brighten up their day!!

Family!

8 years ago, Tatiana and I opened the doors to our boot camp in Yorba Linda on a very cold and dark morning. 🥶

We had a only 4 clients on a free trial, 2 of them are still with us til’ this day. And 1 was my sister Emma, there for sympathy support. ❤️

Tatiana Lassance had moved to California from Brasil 7 days prior, her English was rusty and if you can believe, was incredibly shy at the time. 🇧🇷 🙈

We had very poor lighting and no equipment as we invested nearly every single penny to our name, just getting the doors open. Just 4 walls and some mats. 🚪

We also had absolutely no idea what we were doing or what we were about to embark on. And being very honest & speaking for myself, I was full of excitement, but absolutely scared out of my mind! 🙀

But we had a deep passion for fitness being it completely changed our lives and had a dream to offer that to others. 🔥

Little did we know, it would be one of the most challenging journeys of our lives, but definitely one of the most rewarding. 🏋🏾

Fast forward 8 years, we have been blessed to meet and attract some of the most amazing clients, team and people who have become friends and family. What a stroke of incredible fortune we cannot begin to even fathom. 🙌

So today we celebrated you, our valued clients. As whether you have been to 1 session or with us for 8 years, without you we have no purpose, we have no mission. 🙏❤️

You are the reason we do what we do and for any success we have achieved. We will never forget that and sincerely hope we have positively impacted your life even if it’s small. 🎈

Now to our team, both past and present, they deserve the true praise and credit. ⭐️

They have been with us through the thick and thin, and yes there has been plenty of both. As they are the true heroes and the reason for the success. Tatiana and I stand on their shoulders and so grateful for their massive contribution to you, our clients. 🙏

Thank you to my mentor, business partner and dear friend Bedros Keuilian for the vision of creating this amazing organization. We are forever indebted. 🙌

And to my HQ team, CAP, and band of incredible owners and clients across the country and world. You inspire me every day. ⭐️

And a big thank you to my brother Barrett, sister Emma, and our parents for being our biggest supporters. Love you mom e te amo mamy e família Braisleiro. ❤️

And again Yorba Linda Fit family, thank you for an incredible 8 years and many more to come!!! We are so grateful for you all. 🙏

Monday Mindset – Your freedom 590 467 Bryce Henson

Monday Mindset – Your freedom

Happy Monday!

November is here which means tomorrow is the big day we have all been waiting for; the general election for the Presidency of the United States of America.

And with how much craziness has gone on in 2020, this certainly is a big one with the world watching and many Americans fired up and making their opinions very well known on social media.

Fear not, as today’s message is not politically charged, rather intended to provide some perspective and gratitude for the liberties we have.

As if you’re like me and in the last few weeks, you have seen fights break out on Facebook and Instagram on who’s the better candidate and why. And many times things escalate to full on shouting matches with personal attacks which is never fun to see.

And while like you, I have strong beliefs too about the direction of our country.

But I think many times proper perspective gets lost in the emotion we have as human beings.

Oftentimes when I find myself getting worked up, I take a step back and remember how lucky we are to have the right to vote. Since the dawn of time and in the study of human history, how many people have been oppressed without this valuable right?!

The truth is that the vast majority of people who ever walked the planet, did not have this right or opportunity.

Think for a second, what if we were citizens of North Korea or the countless military dictatorships throughout history that freedom wasn’t granted?!

That puts things in a different perspective doesn’t it?!

So on one hand, I get it. There’s a lot at stake for you, and for me too as a small business owner in America who employs a team of amazing people. As this will become more or less challenging depending on the result. And for you, whatever pressing issue is most relevant to your life.

So we all have a big reason to care.

But my call to action today is to take a step back and realize for a moment how good we have it. We have freedom and the ability to cast a ballot for the leader of our country. WE get to decide.

So if/when you find yourself in a heated keyboard or conversational debate, realize that the other person most likely has the best intentions just like you, they just see things from a different perspective.

So with that said, today’s message is to be kind, and have patience with your fellow man.

And please, whatever you do, exercise your right to vote.

As remember, it’s an incredible freedom you and I have for living in this great country that shouldn’t be taken for granted.

Make it a great Monday and week!

Committed to your success,

-Coach Bryce

Tuesday Mindset – What’s really important. 150 150 Bryce Henson

Tuesday Mindset – What’s really important.

Happy  Tuesday!

What a start to the week as 2020 keeps throwing punches as fires now threaten our safety.

For our clients and team’s well being, we closed sessions last night and this morning in our Yorba Linda location due to evacuation alerts.

More updates will be sent today as we know more.

And it seems our other 2 locations are good for now which is promising, but things can change quickly as winds pick up and die down seemingly in an instant.

So if you are anything like me, you might be thinking “Are you kidding me? What else can happen to this 2020 novel?!”

But the reality is, this is our reality. That’s harsh but true.

We cannot control the fires, although sending incredible love and gratitude to our first responders who can help the effort.

But instead of getting mad, angry or frustrated which admittedly I have felt, we must accept the circumstances we are working through, and focus our efforts on what truly is important.

Easier said than done, but true.

As in the grand scheme of things, your house, your car, your stuff is not important.

However, your life and that of your family and friends are extremely important.

That’s what’s really important and what truly counts.

So my call to action today is to be patient, be kind, be thoughtful and be considerate.

If you are inconvenienced, that’s a bummer and never fun. But as we navigate this additional storm of 2020, let’s all remember what’s really important as this will provide better perspective.

Sending you love and gratitude. Please stay safe and we will be in touch with frequent updates.

Monday Mindset – Circumstance do not change Responsibility 761 405 Bryce Henson

Monday Mindset – Circumstance do not change Responsibility

Happy Monday!

I had a different Monday Mindset topic planned for today, but this morning something came up so I wanted to share the experience and lesson.

To give a little context, today was a rough one for me as my body was tired. I definitely didn’t feel like getting to book camp. But thankfully I got  a really good night’s sleep so I knew it was just the resistance we all feel as humans and not a serious concern.

So made it to the 5:15am session and pushed through an awesome circuit with Coach Jake, John and the Mission Viejo crew! The session was great and we had finished through the station work portion and had 2 minutes left, pushing through the finishers doing mountain climbers and then BOOM!!!!! 🔥🔥

The power went out, it went completely black, lights and music went out and was an eerie silence. It was very startling for a few seconds nearly everyone came to a halt, myself included.

And that’s exactly when coach yelled out:

“Team – we are not done yet. Plank position, we have 2 minutes left.  Let’s go!”

So we all held tight in plank position in the complete darkness.  And it turned out in the last 45 seconds the power came back on and we finished the session with the lights  & music on and in good fashion.

But regardless, we all finished (lights or no lights) and that is the lesson today….

Circumstance don’t change responsibility.

The power went out (circumstance), but we finished the session. (responsibility)

You are tired today (circumstance), but you still must work out your body. (responsibility)

You feel like cake today (circumstance), but you put it down and pick the salad instead. (responsibility)

Someone mistreats you (circumstance), but you still must be kind (responsibility).

You just don’t feel like finishing your project at work by deadline (circumstance), but you do it anyway. (responsibility)

So by now you get the point.

As human nature tends to put focus and assign blame on the circumstance, (on why something wasn’t done), but if you want to live a beautiful and fulfilled life, the secret is to focus on the responsibility instead.  So please remember:

Circumstance don’t change responsibility.

Make it a great Monday and strong start to your week!

Monday Mindset: Choose Your Hard 700 330 Bryce Henson

Monday Mindset: Choose Your Hard

Happy Monday!

I received this message from my better half Tatiana over the weekend and wanted to share since there’s so much truth to it.

And especially being that it has a Stoic framing. As stoicism, the philosophy of the successful, teaches us how to effectively manage hard which is a consistent element to life.

  • Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard.
  • Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.
  • Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard.
  • Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard.

Life will never be easy. It will ALWAYS be hard. But we can choose our hard. Pick wisely.

Let’s have an INCREDIBLE start to the week and pass this on to someone who needs it!

Committed to YOUR success,

-Coach Bryce

Monday Mindset: A giant thank you 663 335 Bryce Henson

Monday Mindset: A giant thank you

Happy Monday!

I cannot believe it’s already mid-October. The Los Angeles Lakers just won the NBA championship which is usually held in June.  I think we can all agree that this is certainly a strange year.

And for all the challenges we have faced in 2020, here we are. We continue to forge ahead.

We are undeniably stronger, more resilient and tougher.

With this perspective, I wanted to send you a heartfelt thank you. Thank you for reading these messages. Thank you for being part of our community.

Thank you for helping your neighbor. Thank you for trusting our coaches. Thank you for working hard each day to become a better version of you. Thank you for getting up at the alarm bell when it stings.

Thank you for drinking more water. Thank you for putting down that ice cream. Thank you for drinking that protein shake.

Thank you for caring about your health and fitness as we fight the BIGGEST epidemic our country faces: OBESITY which causes compounded complications in our country’s healthcare system.

No, we are not perfect. We are flawed humans. That’s me, that’s you.

But here we are, continuing to forge ahead.

And while I am sure this year will have more surprises in store as that’s the nature of life on this planet of ours called Earth. Thank you for continuing to take care of yourself, which enables us to all take care of each other.

From my team and I, have an INCREDIBLE Monday. Know that we are so grateful for you and as your call to action today, please send a message of gratitude to someone in need. As I can assure you, someone needs your love today.

Love, respect, gratitude,

-Coach Bryce

Monday Mindset: Who do they save? 1024 527 Bryce Henson

Monday Mindset: Who do they save?

Happy Monday!
My good friend Mateo shared this with me recently so wanted to pass it on as I trust you will get value.
But please be for warned as the question I am proposing today is very deep and smacked me in the face when I was presented with it, but possess a VERY valuable lesson…
QUESTION:
When the coast guard goes out to save lives during a boat wreck, and the humbling moment arrives in that they realize there are more people in the water than space in the helicopter….
The question then becomes….Who do they save?
ANSWER:
There motto is…
“We can only save the people who swim toward us.”
Please watch this 2 minute video HERE!    🚁 🚁 🚁
The learning lesson is you will go CRAZY in life if you try to help people who claim they want your help but don’t actually do.
That’s a recipe for confusion, frustration and eventual disaster for all parties.
Thus, in your life and as good humans do, be there for those who needs your help. Share your gifts and support whenever possible.  But only spend time with people who say they need it, and actually welcome the help!!
And that’s the same for us as your coaches here at Fit Body. Our team is here for you! We want to coach you, we want to support you, we want to ensure you stay accountable, and we want to help you!
So todays message and the call to action is to please swim toward us!!! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♂️🏊‍♂️

Monday Mindset: “Victim or Victor”? Meet Kara…. 768 1024 Bryce Henson

Monday Mindset: “Victim or Victor”? Meet Kara….

Happy Monday!

Today’s message comes from a story that GREATLY INSPIRES me, from a client named Kara A. who is a member of our San Marcos location. I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to befriend, and work out with her on occasion!

She works incredibly hard, is extremely inspirational and will tell you that she has a completely full life.  And I would say she has taken what many would consider as a “Victim” situation and turned it into a super power. In my estimation that is a VICTOR’s mentality that we can all learn from!! As in life, it’s not about what happens to you (which is mostly out of our control). It’s about how you RESPOND!

The source of inspiration for me is that she is deaf, using American Sign Language to communicate. Although not to be confused with “hearing impaired.”  Simply and in her own words “because I don’t view myself as broken.”

Kara was born in Russia and adopted at an early age, and moved to Maryland where she lived on the East Coast and ended up graduating at the Rochester Institute of Technology. And in 2013, she took a chance and moved to California.  BOOM!

Additionally, she is awakened up to the significant visionary sightseeing with the silence she feels.

And as it turns out, “being deaf has increased my senses in other areas of my life where I can focus on my work out without hearing. Instead of listening to sounds, I depend on feeling sounds by vibrations in my body that echoes from the wall. “

How incredible is that?

I trust you find this as inspiring as I do. And especially at a time where 43% of our country is obese according to the CDC as of 2018 statistics, which is by far and statistically the biggest health epidemic we are facing as country that will have incredible consequences if not fixed!!!

From the mindset of “I am too busy, I don’t have the time, I have family to take care of, I cannot make fitness my priority” which we have all heard people say citing why they cannot focus on their health as priority.

But there is Kara, with a significant reason why “I cannot actually hear the coaches or ques” that anyone would understand.  But does she say that?

NOPE!!!

There she is, with a VICTOR not VICTIM mindset, taking care of herself and being part of the solution.

And here are a few more words from Kara, which I hope inspires YOU as much as it does ME!

“Health and fitness are so important!!! I love being an athlete, to play as a team, and have a good time!  Without nutrition and exercise, I would not be able to play like a “child” again.

I am doing this for myself, my niece who is 24 months old, and even my life partner’s nephew, 14th months old. These children need big role models and use us as examples! So keep going & have FUN!”

-Coach Bryce

PS Kara is on the far right of the picture, flexing like the TRUE VICTOR she is!

Monday Mindset: New beginnings 768 1024 Bryce Henson

Monday Mindset: New beginnings

Happy Monday!

New beginnings can be very exciting, happy, nerve racking, and even scary!

And all of these emotions were captured last week when I met my nephew Ryder this past Friday evening! He was born on Friday, September 11, in the year 2020.

Can you believe that!? What a date huh? :p

Well it turns out, his presence in our world is the good luck we all need to turn the energy around back to the blue skies and rainbows ahead!

Can you feel it?!  I can!!! 🙂

As such, I am super happy for my sister Emma and her fiance Bobby. And even more happy to welcome Ryder into the world as his life marks a new beginning in our family. My first official nephew, first grandson for my mother and first child for my sister Emma.

And yes, I am a VERY happy and proud uncle!!!

That in mind, today marks another new beginning as we have thousands of challengers here in Southern California and across North America, embarking on our last 8 Week Transformation Challenge of the year.

Nutrition Coaching and accountability is the foundation of the challenge program, with the goal of collectively adding to the 311,000 lbs weight loss metric previously lost with our programs to date.

And our goal is to cross the ½ million pound mark by its completion in mid November. Yes, we have our work cut out for us, but know we can do it!

As such, and with all the movements, in today’s message I wanted to point out that change is a part of life. In fact, it’s the only constant even though human nature tends to resist it, myself included. And this is especially why one of our core values is to Embrace and Drive Change. As without this mindset, we will all be left behind especially in today’s fast paced, technologically driven world.

So my call to action today is to embrace change, embrace the new and when you do, you become more open to all life has to offer and the new blessings in store!

We are here for you and make it a GREAT week!

PS WELCOME to our all NEW CHALLENGERS!!!!

Coach Bryce
