Monday Mindset: Your Silent Battle āš”ļø

Happy Monday!
I just arrived in Florianopolis, Brazil at the very end of this past week. šŸ‡§šŸ‡·
I am here making good on a promise I made to Tatianaā€™s mom nearly 10 years ago when I swept her off her island.
Itā€™s a very short trip for the distance as we head back this coming Saturday. But we are making the most of the time with family.
Yesterday, we had Sunday dinner with her brother Lu.
On the way, we stopped by downtown Florianopolis. As I always like to visit the important places on this island in which I lived for nearly 2 years.šŸ
And this new painting near the city center really stuck out to me. šŸŽØ
In fact, it was a stark reminder that travel is the incredible study of human nature.
As no matter what country or continent, you come from. No matter the language you speak, humans are the same to our core.
Yes, we have many cultural differences.
But we experience the same emotions, fears, and desires.
Human nature is human nature…
And while only the artist knows the true meaning, I took it as this…
We all wear masks as we navigate the difficulties of life.
Challenge and suffering are tough realities of being alive.
And many times, we suffer in silence.
Which means at any given moment, you are fighting a silent battle thatā€™s unknown to most of the world.
So am I. šŸ™Œ
And so is everyone you know.
This is what makes us human and live.
So my message today is to be a little more kind. Be a little more patient.Ā  Be a little more understanding. Be a little more compassionate. Be a little more loving. ā¤ļø
We all deeply need these things which if acted upon, will make our world a better place.

Monday Mindset: Embrace the Suck.. šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļø

On Saturday I completed my 2nd recorded marathon in 9 hours and 33 minutes and the name of the event accurately summed it upā€¦
Suckfest 2. āš”ļø
And better yet, it wasnā€™t a ā€œnormal marathonā€ which is why the time was 2x than my first!
The event consisted of 28 miles (1.8 extra for good measure) and 4,200 reps of resistance training with a team of like-minded people from across the world wanting to get better. šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļø
Why would I do such a thing?
Well, I used to lack confidence, possess poor leadership skills, and was unsure of myself more than I want to admit. šŸ˜ž
But when I began to intentionally do hard stuff. This changed this for me, and it continues to do so.
Want more confidence? šŸ§
Want more self-esteem? šŸ§
Want more life momentum and to be an overall better person? šŸ§
  • Challenge yourself. āš”ļø
  • Do hard stuff. āš”ļø
  • Stack wins. āš”ļø
  • Push yourself further than you think is possible. āš”ļø
Itā€™s not fun going through it. Sometimes downright miserable. This is real talk.
But when you take 1 step, the next is easier. And the cycle repeats until you wake up a new person.
This is what I was reminded of on Saturday.
And want this for you. šŸ‘Š
In closing, would I recommend Suckfest for you?Ā Probably notĀ unlessĀ you are highly conditioned.
But whether itā€™s a long walk, a fast run, another set, a tough hike out, or anything outside your current reachā€¦.
Pushing your specific comfort zone and ā€œembracing the suckā€ will make you better!

Monday Mindset: Habits can save you..šŸ‘‡

I hope you had an incredible time with your family for Thanksgiving. My favorite holiday of the year. šŸŽ‰
I had another mindset message for you planned for today.
But my experience this morning spoke to me, so I am pulling an audible. And I will save the other message for next week.
On Thursday Tatiana and I went over to Bedrosā€™ house for Thanksgiving. Friday, I then worked. And Saturday/Sunday, I rested both days.
Itā€™s been a very long time since I took 2 full days off.
In fact, I cannot even remember when that happened. But on Friday evening, it felt like I had my batteries unplugged. So I listened to my body and went to bed extra early.
And consequently and for both days over the weekend, I slept and recovered.
The good side? I needed it so glad I did. šŸ’Ŗ
The bad side?Ā  I normally have a good amount of drive and ambition to attack the day. But with taking 2 days off, today was VERY VERY challenging! šŸ˜…
In fact, when my alarm rang at 4:15 am, I seriously contemplated turning it off and going back to sleep. šŸ’¤
And candidly, without the habit of working out every morning that I have developed over the years. And my coaches expecting me to be at the session, I probably would have…
So thatā€™s my message for today.
Your habits will carry you through on the days you donā€™t feel like it. And sometimes they are more prevalent than the days you do.
As ultimately, your willpower will fail you. Donā€™t rely on that.
However, yourĀ habitsĀ will carry you through…
And that might seem impossible at first, I know the feeling…
But trust me that when you put 1 foot ahead of the other. You will develop a habit, and your HABIT will get you through far more than your willpower ever will.
So hereā€™s to making and keeping some positive habits throughout the Holiday season and into 2022!

Monday Mindset – An 8,000lb load & some teamworkā€¦

On Saturday morning, I joined a dozen friends & clients on a terrain run in Irvine. It was very inspiring to complete together.

 

Everyone accomplished.Ā 


In fact, my friend Yogi (in year ā€™70s) scaled over a 30-foot wall which was beyond inspiring.

 

On the drive home, it got me thinking on how with the power that we contain in our community. The power is that you and our clients can do so much more with the built-in positive support.

 

In fact, it reminded me of a story that my buddy CJ shared a few weeks which provides a good overview of the power of community and teamwork.

It also demonstrates the reasoning why we provide so many results for you and our clients.Ā 

 

And I trust it will inspire you too to kick start your week!

 


Ā 
A single draft horse can pull a load of up to 8,000lbs ā€“ so naturally, when adding a second horse, you imagine both would pull 16,000lbs of load, right?

But your imagination would fool you.Ā 

When you add a second horse, they canĀ pull 3x the load working together (24,000lbs).Ā 

Now hereā€™s where it gets even more interestingā€¦Ā 

If the two horses which are pulling together have trained with one another / worked with one another before, these two horses in tandem can actually pull a 32,000lb load ā€“ 4x as heavy as either of these horses could pull by themselves.Ā 

These horses teach us a very powerful lesson in teamwork.Ā 

No one lives or works alone on the proverbial island ā€“ when you are investing in growth, collaboration, and togetherness, you can pull exponentially more.

The fundamental definition of teamwork is: the combined action of a group of people, especially when effective and efficient.Ā 

By training AND working together toward a common goal you will achieve more.Ā 

This is exactly why working out together in a group helps with accountability ā€“ itā€™s exactly why there is so much magic in boot camp. Itā€™s exactly why this holidayā€™s Zero Pound Game is Buddy Version.Ā 

Harness the power and productivity of teamwork, and be willing to do the work and collaborateā€¦

Because it will take you far beyond what you can do by yourself.Ā 


This is the power of teamwork and Fit Body Boot Camp!

Monday Mindset: Results & Community.

On Friday morning I caught a plane from San Antonio, Texas back home to Orange County. āœˆļø


I was with our Franchise Business Coaches helping build more systems that will support our clients in their fitness & fat loss pursuit.

 

As this is why people join our fitness program…

 

We produce fitness and fat loss results.

 

But thereā€™s another reason why people stay at boot camp.

 

And thatā€™s because of the community.

 

Humans are very social. We are tribal at our core.


So in an effort to create more relationships and build an even stronger community.. We hosted a client appreciation party on Friday night to celebrate. šŸŽ‰

 

It was a wonderful event and had nearly 75 people in attendance.


The mission was simple: Celebrate you and our clients for all the hard work you put forth each and every day.

 

We ate.

We mingled.

We danced.

We created stronger relationships.

And we recognized the hard work of our VIP members and team.


It was a magical evening. šŸŖ„

 

And whether you were in attendance or not..Ā 

 

I wanted to thank you. šŸ™

Monday Mindset: 9 years in a blink of the eye!

9 years ago this past Friday, Tatiana and I launched our first Fit Body Location of Yorba Linda on a cold dark day with just a few trial clients and very bad lighting.
This was after investing my life savings into a dream to help others just like fitness helped me years prior.
Excited and scared to death all at the same time.
Very humble beginnings as we didn’t have enough money for equipment until about 4-5 months in.
Just 4 walls, some mats, burpees, planks & sit-ups with a lot of passion to Inspire Fitness and Change Lives.
I was the coach, the marketer, the nutritionist, the bookkeeper, and the janitor.
And while I was confident we would help our community’s fitness…
Truthfully, I didn’t foresee how the relationships and the friendships would transpire to family.
What a stroke of good fortune.
So whether you have been with us for 9 years or 9 days, I wanted to thank you.
Thank you for taking action to better your life.
Thank you for trusting us with your health and fitness.
Thank you for contributing to this beautiful community.
Thank you as without youā€¦
This wouldn’t be possible and Tatiana, the team, and I will never lose sight of that…
And the most exciting part?
We are just getting started.

This past week I watched a very interesting personal growth podcast. šŸŽ™

The host said something profoundā€¦

ā€œStop right now and appreciate all the things in your life that you once desired, but now already haveā€. šŸ‘Š


This stopped me dead in my tracks.

Why? ā‰ļøĀ 


Well, as part of the human condition and evolutionary wiring, our metric for success always changes.Ā 

You see..Ā 

You want something, and then when you get it.. Then your metric adjusts for whatā€™s next.Ā 

Case in pointā€¦

If you would have told me 20 years ago..

I would live in Southern California where thereā€™s palm trees!! šŸŒ“šŸŒ“šŸŒ“


I would be in shape and a very fit guy. šŸ’Ŗ

I would have a loving wife who is extremely supportive. šŸ‘°ā€ā™€ļø

And I would own a fitness businesses that impacts the lives of my team, clients, and communityā€¦

I would have said HECK YES, SIGN ME UP!Ā 

And while this is all true and very fulfilling, itā€™s also normal now. Just part of my life and business as usual.


Thatā€™s the same for you too.

As when you achieve something, then you quickly normalize it.

In fact, as humans we always desire more. Yes, thereā€™s an evolutionary advantage to that especially in more ancient times. But it comes with a high cost of your happiness.Ā 

So, today’s message is to take a step back and be intentional.

Think of all the blessings in your life. Remember the days you were dreaming of where you are now..

 

Appreciate how far you have come and what you have acquired, even the small stuff.

That will brighten up your day with some richer perspective.

And since we live life 1 day at a time, your life is now richer. ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

This past week I was in Austin, Texas.
I was there to lead a 3-day Mastermind event for some of the most ambitious owners in our Fit Body brand.
We had nearly 100 attendees from across North America. šŸ§
I was there to teach. šŸ§
And I also learned.. šŸ§ 
I learned that there are many good-hearted people who care about helping others. ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹
I learned that our communities need health and fitness more than ever. šŸ’Ŗ
I learned that without your fitness, life becomes very hard. šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļø
I learned that being out of shape is very expensive. šŸ’°
I learned that the cost of health care is $1,479 more for someone who is obese than average weight per year. šŸ¤‘šŸ’²
I learned that everyone is going through some internal crisis, and we all need to be a bit kinder.
I learned that everyone gets off track at one point or the other.
I learned that real success isnā€™t about not failing.
Itā€™s about not quitting. šŸ‘Š
I learned that to live in a better world, we need to pay it forward.
And I want you to know that my team and I are here investing in ourselves so we can be the best coaches for you.

While humanity continues to navigate through the COVID pandemicā€¦Ā 

 

Thereā€™s a much bigger pandemic statically speaking and wreaking much more long-term havoc in our community that the media doesnā€™t talk too much about..


This is the obesity pandemic and itā€™s raging on faster than ever before and on the verge of affecting 50% of our citizens by CDC latest report..


ā€œCoach Bryce thatā€™s not good, but is obesity really that bad?ā€ you might ask..


Well, here are some insights and stats from the CDC specific to the effects of obesity:

 

  • It absolutely crushes your long-term health, reducing your quality of life.
  • It makes your body and organs work harder just to survive.
  • It statistically shortens your life upwards of a decade in some studies..
  • It causes emotional depression and shame.
  • Itā€™s expensive as costs the average American $1,479 more in annual health care costs just by being obese..Ā 
  • It increases your probability of type 2 diabetes.
  • And compounds the effects of COVID, heart disease and ultimately any disease you come across.Ā 

 

That all said and to provide you a positive message this morningā€¦

 

There is hope and you are part of the solution!


You see the CDC reports with 2 high-intensity interval workouts per week with strength training. Along with an increase in hydration and reduction of sugars, this pandemic can be eliminated.

Monday Mindset – Lifeā€™s special moments..

This past weekend was very special as my sister Emma was married in San Diego which was fantastic.
My 2ndĀ memory of life was the day she was born and something I will never forget.
And passing her off to her husband Bobby on Saturday evening will also be in the same category as something I always remember.
As I reflect, there are so many emotions and takeaways given the significance of the event.
But this was the thought that came running through my mind yesterday specific to you…
Yes, being healthy and fit will drastically help your life. You will be happier, stronger, better, and possess more vibrancy to navigate through life.
This is for certain.
Although the biggest benefit it can provide you is that it allows you to be present for your siblings, your parents, your kids, your spouse, and your loved ones.
It ensures you have the physical ability to be there to support them in the good times and bad. And in the special moments, the highlights and lowlights of life which there are many of each.
So, my message today is to remind you that your health and fitness are about you, but also about much more than you.
And itā€™s extremely important to never forget that…
